Potentialities and Prospects - Animal Husbandry Sector
 

The programs and activities related to animal husbandry are focused on the development and empowerment of agribusiness subsystems in order to maximize livestock and poultry industry. Potential animals are poultry chicken, milking cow, buffalo, duck, poultry chicken for eggs, cattle, goat and sheep.


Cattle and Poultry breeding that includ cows and chicken are scattered in middle and northern Cianjur areas. The meat products from these areas are marketed in Jakarta.

To develop production in the future, the development of animal husbandry sector is oriented to:

  1. Optimizing the sustainable and environment  friendly use of natural resources.

  2. Creating strong and ready human resources.

  3. Intensifying potential business activities with adequate capital ownership.

  4. Optimizing infrastructure in order to serve the community as well as possible.


29.000 tons of meat, 14.000 tons of eggs and 4.500 kilolitres of milk are produced annualy

Animal commodities that have investment prospects and economic advantages are:

  1. The breeding of duck and the production of eggs in the sub districts of Karangtengah, Ciranjang and Cikalongkulon.

  2. Cattle breeding in the sub  districts of Cibinong, Sindangbarang, Cidaun, Naringgul, Agrabinta, Kadupandak, Cikalongkulon and Cilaku.

  3. Milking cow breeding in the sub  districts of Sukanagara, Takokak and Campaka.

  4. Poultry chicken for meat and eggs in the sub  districts of Karangtengah, Cibeber, Warungkondang, Cikalongkulon, Mande, Campaka and Cibinong.

  5. Sheep / goat breeding at Campaka, Takokak, Sindangbarang, Agrabinta, Naringgul and Cidaun.
