Cianjur Regency has a lot of potential in nature and is blessed with various
mining materials (metal and non metal) used for industry and construction.
Non metal materials are feldspar, limestone and other mining materials
category C where as metal materials include gold and iron ores. There is
also geothermal power that waits to be developed. Most minerals resources
belong to category C and some minerals belong to category A and B. Category
C diggings include mountainous rocks, broken rocks, limestone, benzonit,
water sands, mountain sands and pumice.

Rock and building sand mining has produced a lot ; some of which is marketed in Jakarta
to meet the local need for such product.
The policy concerning priority related to mineral resources and mining is as
follows:

intensifying an inventory of potential mineral resources.

environment friendly mineral resources management and maximizing their
use.

enforcement in order to prevent environmental degradation and geological
disaster.

partnership between business and community in order to benefit from

transparency of policy and regulations in order to attract investment in
the mining sector.

The regency of Cianjur has a great potential in ferrous sand mining that waits to be developed further,
it is mostly found along the coastal areas in the sub district of Cidaun, Sindangbarang and Agrabinta
and located at a distane of 110 kilometres south of Cianjur town centre.
Cianjur Regency has a lot of potential to maximize mining resources such as:

stones in the sub - districts of Campaka, Takokak, Cibeber and Sukanagara.

the sub - districts of Takokak, Sukanagara, Pagelaran, Kadupandak,
Sindangbarang, Tanggeung and Cibinong.

Building sands in
the sub - districts of Naringgul, Agrabinta and Cibinong.

Gold mining in the sub - districts of Campaka, Tanggeung, Sukanagara and
Pagelaran.
