Cipanas President residence was built in 1740 by Van Heut stand on on over
25 hectares area. It is well known as Istana Cipanas (Cipanas Palace),
located under the foot of mount Gede. The distance is about 103 km from
Jakarta and 17 km from Cianjur city. The location is surrounding by
beautiful scenery of flowers and vegetable gardens.
Cipanas palace consists of a big central building and seven annexes with
sport centre room. The building wide is only is only 950 square meters.
Every room contains of wooden furniture, Jepara carving products, and
painting collections from several maestro of Indonesian art painting such as
Basuki Abdullah, Dullah sudjojono, and Lee Man Kong
The annexes named by some characteristics of wayang or puppet figures. Some
added annexes were built in 1916 and two was 1984, and there is fountain
in the backyard. |
