Thanks to its natural beauty and cultural richness along with strategic geographical location, Cianjur Regency has a lot of potential in various sectors, for example, agro tourism. There, Cianjur has good prospects for becoming tourist destination with various tourist spots such as Cibodas Botanical Garden, Nusantara Flower Garden and Cipanas state Palace. Agro tourism has a lot to do with agricultural activities that include the production of food crops, plantation, fishery, animal husbandry and forestry.

The fact that Cianjur has all the things related to agriculture can be used to start developing agriculture to the maximum on order to yield various commodities from huge land and rice field, relatively large plantation and ecotourism.

To succeed in making Cianjur tourist destination, the government of Cianjur Regency continues improving tourism infrastructure to wards and around tourist spots such as larger parking lots, roads, bridges, praying places or mosques and mushollas. A great influx of tourist flock to various tourist spots in the region on Saturdays, Sundays, during school vacation, New year and during other national vacations.

There are also various cultural tourist spots such as archeological site at mount Padang in the sub district of Campaka and the grove yard of Dalem Cikundul in the sub district of Cikalong kulon located 13 km from Cianjur down town to the north east. Local muslim tourists and visiting pilgrims pay homage to the dead Dalem and recite the Qur’anic verses.

Water Tourism object was developed in the sub district Mande. It was known as Cirata Lake that located approximately 15 km from Cianjur capital to the east. Beside natural beauty we can also enjoy floating net, because this district was developed Floating Net Fishery System. To make Cirata Lake more attractive, government annually use to make champion ship as: boating, ayam pelung , kites, and motocross. 

Besides tourism object in the north and east of Cianjur, now days beach tourism also developed which located front of Indonesian Ocean in South Cianjur, approximately 120 km from center town. Tourism objects which located in the south Cianjur  are Jayanti beach, sereg and Apra.  Investors are welcomed and required to help develop these rich areas.

According to developing beach tourism object, government of cianjur regency is seen to make those area as tourism object also to developing fishery abundant marine resources by providing more representative fish landing spots.
