The art of Mamaos
Tembang Sunda Cianjuran was inspired and created by the art sense of R. Aria
Adipati Kusumaningrat or known as Dalem Pancaniti who led Cianjur in
1834-1861.
By glorious and high
sense of art, Dalem Pancaniti made Seni Mamaos Tembang Sunda Cianjuran.
Dalem Pancaniti also helped by someartists like Rd. Natawiredja, Bapak Aem,
and Mang Buleng in his creating the arts.
After the was
passed away in 1861, The Regent of Cianjur continued by his son R.A.A.
Prawiradiredja II (1861-1910). In this era, the art of Mamaos Tembang Sunda
Cianjuran become more completed. Its accompanied and added by sound of
kecapi and suling (flute). At the present time, the art of Mamaos Tembang
Sunda Cianjuran is popular not only in Indonesia. But also in overseas as an
original art coming from Cianjur. To conserve the traditional heritage,
especially this art, the government always organize the competition of
Mamaos Tembang Sunda Cianjuran. named Pasanggiri, gradually, even it's
locally or nationally. |
